Job Summary
Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT equipment to perform initial testing for patient exams. Follow scripting for testing procedures including photos and visual activities while cleaning examination equipment such as tonometer tips. Comply with company policies including HIPAA and practice urgency to value patient and doctor time. Handle general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager. Maintain a team-oriented, patient-focused environment by interacting courteously with all employees. Commit to work hours meeting business needs, which may include weekends, schedule changes, or an extended schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to climb
- Commitment to work hours that meet the needs of the business which may include weekends, schedule changes or an extended schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
