Job Summary
Optometric Assistant at Wolfe Eye Clinic — based in the Cedar Falls Clinic with an immediate opening for a Part-Time role. Assist the Optometrist during clinic visits, perform patient workups, and conduct diagnostic testing including manual refraction, retinoscopy, keratometry, OCTs, visual fields, and tonometry. Document medical and ocular histories in electronic medical records, order contact lenses, provide patient education, and triage/call handling. Maintain patient documentation, sterilize exam rooms, monitor the clinic schedule for efficiency, and travel to the Waterloo clinic as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Detailed oriented
- Previous experience in a medical office
- Previous experience with electronic medical record or medical office software
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Have excellent patient service skills
- Maintain excellent communication skills
- Previous optical or ophthalmic experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Daytime travel is required. When traveling to the non-base clinic, mileage and time on the road will be reimbursed.
