Job Summary
The Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant enhances patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, conducting pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process. Responsibilities include registering patients and entering medical history into EMR, assisting on-site and remote eye care with testing and video conferencing, documenting results, transitioning patients to retail staff post-exam, understanding MVC plan benefits for patients, preauthorizing insurance, managing exam schedules with no-shows and cancellations, maintaining patient flow and records, instructing on contact lens care and orders, pulling trials, ensuring a clean clinical environment, and participating in required clinical training. Must be able to travel between locations with flexible schedules; education/experience required includes HS diploma/GED and one year of related experience. HIPAA compliance and strong customer service and communication skills are essential; candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and collaborating with patients and team members.
Required Qualifications

- Optical or Healthcare background preferred
- Medical office/business professionalism required
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
