Job Summary
Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant is primarily responsible for ensuring a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, completing pre-exam diagnostic tests, and explaining each step of the process. Acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, participates in the initial steps of the patient journey, assists onsite doctors with patient care and eye examinations, guides patients through remote eye exam pre-testing and remote conferencing, documents results in EMR, answers clinical questions, and coordinates scheduling and insurance processes. Maintains patient records, instructs patients on contact lens insertion and care, understands MVC plan benefits, handles preauthorization, and ensures HIPAA compliance while maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. Requires flexibility to travel to other locations, strong customer service, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and effective communication with patients and team members. Education/experience includes HS diploma/GED or equivalent, one year of related experience, training provided; HIPAA training and data security awareness are required. Salary ranges from $18 to $27 per hour, with a pay rate emphasizing hourly compensation and the potential for additional incentives.
Required Qualifications
