Job Summary
Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant supports patient experience by preparing for onsite and remote eye examinations, performing pre-exam diagnostic tests, and documenting results in EMR. Acts as liaison between patients and Optometrists; assists with initial steps of patient journey. For remote appointments, guides patients through the remote eye exam, initiates video conferencing, and documents results. In partnership with retail associates, schedules appointments, manages exam books, and preauthorizes insurance. Maintain strong understanding of plan benefits and transition patients to retail staff post-exam. Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to other locations as needed. HIPAA compliance required; strong customer service and organizational skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of related experience
- Optical or Healthcare background preferred
- Medical office/business professionalism required
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
- Training provided
