Job Summary
Prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations by administering diagnostic tests, explaining the process, and documenting results in the EMR. Assist doctors with patient care, triage ocular emergencies, and answer clinical questions via phone or in person. Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, handling no-shows, and transitioning patients to retail associates with doctor recommendations. Maintain accurate patient records, pull contact lens trials, and ensure clinical equipment is cleaned and stocked nightly. Work flexible schedules that may include traveling between locations while adhering to HIPAA and company security protocols.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of related experience
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
- Medical office/business professionalism
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read English
- Ability to operate and enter data into electronic software platforms efficiently and accurately
- Ability to work flexible schedules to meet changing business demands to include traveling to other locations
- Ability to work changing schedules to meet business demands to include travel between stores
- Work inside store location
- Use computers, electronics tablets, and pre-testing instruments effectively
- Reach above shoulder continuously
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Close Vision (clear vision at 20" or less)
- Must comply with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Must explicitly adhere to all data security guidelines established within the Company's Privacy & Security Training Program
Desired Qualifications
- Optical or Healthcare background preferred
- Have a strong understanding of MVC plans and be able to articulate plan benefits to patients
