Job Summary
Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant helps ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam diagnostic tests, explaining steps, assisting with eye examinations, coordinating with optometrists, and transitioning patients to retail staff after appointments. Responsibilities include patient registration, documenting Medical History and Ocular Health in EMR, conducting pre-testing, facilitating remote eye exams (including video conferencing and additional testing), scheduling and managing exam books, understanding MVC plans and insurance preauthorization, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining accurate patient records. Requires ability to work flexible schedules with travel between stores, and a HS diploma/GED with one year of related experience; optical/healthcare background preferred.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of related experience
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
- Optical or Healthcare background preferred
- Medical office/business professionalism required
