Job Summary
Monitor and control the cement manufacturing process from the Remote Optimization Center, reviewing equipment status, process parameters, and alarms to ensure the plant operates within defined parameters. Identify and troubleshoot process and equipment issues by collaborating with plant and HROC teams to minimize downtime and production losses. Maintain accurate records of process parameters and operational activities to support trend analysis and efficiency improvements while ensuring safe, continuous plant operations and compliance with environmental regulations. Requires 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends, with the ability to travel within the United States and Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to safely operate a cement plant in a 24/7 environment
- extensive control room experience
- disciplined decision making
- strong understanding of kiln and mill processes
- familiarity with process control systems
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree, preferably in Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing
- Technical certifications or vocational training in process operations or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and precision
- Excellent communication
- the ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, and weekends
