Job Summary
Run multiple polishing and generating machines to process optical materials like fused silica and CaF2. Read engineering drawings to understand part specifications and manufacturing processes. Test optical parts using interferometers, calipers, and micrometers. Troubleshoot equipment to achieve passing parts and perform surface quality inspections to ensure parts are free of digs and scratches. Maintain machines to keep them running at peak efficiency. Report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and partner with Production, Engineering, and Planning teams. Hourly pay ranges from $17.31 to $32.12.
Required Qualifications
- Preferably completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and literacy
- Good communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Related experience in sizing, grinding, or polishing of optical materials using conventional and/or CNC methods
