Job Summary
Oversee assigned mobile eye clinic operations by conducting pre-tests, fitting frames, and dispensing glasses to large groups of students in underserved communities. Perform vision screenings using a Welch Allyn Spot Check Vision Screener, take measurements, and adjust prescriptions while maintaining optimal professional standards. Manage daily clinic workflows including vehicle setup, inventory replenishment, and loading, while completing reports and making follow-up calls to patient caregivers. Work Monday through Friday during school hours starting in December, with a requirement for a valid driver's license and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Optician Diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Familiarity with Klamath Falls area geography
- Familiarity with phone GPS
- Driving transcript
- Successful track record of working with children
- Successful track record of working with diverse types of people
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for an 8-hour shift including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Must pass company and applicable background checks
- Must pass drug test
- Must pass Department of Justice background check/fingerprinting (LiveScan)
- Child abuse history clearance
- Must pass TB test
Desired Qualifications
- Optician Certification (COA, COT, NCLE, and ABO)
- Experience using Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word
- Ability to quickly learn EHR reporting
- Ability to quickly learn project management systems
- Spanish skills
