Job Summary
Certified Optician needed to support the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in optical dispensing inside the VA Eye Clinic. Responsibilities include assisting Veterans with eyeglass frame selection, measuring pupillary distance and segment height, fitting and adjusting eyeglasses for proper alignment and comfort, verifying VA prescriptions, performing minor repairs, documenting services in the VA electronic health record, maintaining optical equipment, and providing professional customer service to Veteran patients.
Required Qualifications
- American Board of Opticianry certification preferred
- State optician license if required by state regulations
- Optical dispensing experience in clinic or retail setting
- Ability to read and verify optical prescriptions
- Strong patient service skills
