Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts by accurately measuring facial dimensions, pupillary distance, and frame adjustments. Operate auto-lensometers to recommend specific lenses, coatings, and frames that align with patient needs and prescriptions. Assist patients in selecting styles and colors while maintaining frame inventory standards and cleaning fully stocked areas. Collect precise measurements including bridge, temple length, and vertex distance to ensure proper dispensing. Repair and adjust frames, dispense orders in E360, and follow all job aids and HIPAA protocols. Maintain accurate frame inventory and perform general office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- HIPAA compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
