Job Summary
The Optician I provides entry-level support in the optical department, assisting patients with frame selection, verifying vision benefits, performing basic measurements, and ensuring accurate billing and dispensing of eyewear. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic. The role requires a detail-oriented approach to measurements and billing, along with a basic understanding of optical terminology and eyewear components. Candidates should demonstrate problem solving skills and be customer service-oriented.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- BLS upon hire
- One to two years of customer service experience
- One to two years of optical experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an Optical, preferred
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), preferred
