Job Summary
Assist patients in selecting spectacles by educating them on lens technology, frame styling, and prescription needs to optimize vision and personal style. Calculate insurance co-pays based on eligibility, enter and verify spectacle orders, and monitor daily lab status to ensure timely delivery. Perform necessary adjustments and repairs, troubleshoot patient concerns, and provide care instructions for prescribed eyewear. Maintain optical inventory and merchandise displays while managing patient flow and communicating appointment delays. This role blends customer service with administrative tasks within a professional medical office environment.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to communicate and provide superior customer service that fosters long-lasting relationships
- Creative design skills in the creation and maintenance of displays of optical merchandise and inventory within the optical area
- Strong administrative skills in completing tasks such as calculating co-pays, reviewing insurance eligibility, and preparing work orders for the optical lab
- Visual and verbal acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 pounds from waist to shoulder, and 5 pounds from shoulder to overhead
