Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contact lenses by accurately measuring facial features, eye size, and pupillary distance while coordinating frames with optical prescriptions. Operate auto-lensometers and manual lensometers to educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and styles that suit their needs. Collect precise measurements for bridge, temple length, and vertex distance to ensure proper dispensing in the E360 system. Repair and adjust frames, maintain clean and organized work areas, and follow all job aids and policies to keep inventory accurate. Assist with general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- HIPAA compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
