Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts by measuring facial dimensions, operating lensometers, and coordinating frames with optical prescriptions. Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and styles while accurately collecting bridge, PD, and seg heights. Repair and adjust frames, dispense orders in E360, and maintain frame inventory standards through cleaning and organization. Follow all job aids, policies, and HIPAA protocols to support patient medical needs while maximizing retail sales.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time
