Job Summary
Optician role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts from optometrists/ophthalmologists’ prescriptions, promotes frames and lenses to meet patient needs, and supports the Total Patient Experience. Responsibilities include adjusting and repairing glasses, verifying insurances, facilitating patient flow, communicating with patients/doctors/managers, handling inquiries by phone/email/in person, measuring and dispensing orders, maintaining inventory and completing office duties as needed. Requires high school diploma or GED and actual Optician experience; proficient in customer service, basic computer skills, and HIPAA compliance; ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications are preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Optician experience is required
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- HIPAA: All Associates must comply with HIPAA as described in company policies
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment) preferred, but not required
