Job Summary
Process lab orders, check ordered materials, and balance invoices for frames, lenses, and contacts at month-end. Fit patients with proper eyewear, adjust glasses to meet their needs, and sell appropriate options while understanding insurance coverage. Enter data accurately into EHR medical software and handle returns for credits. Balance invoices and credits for frames, lenses, and contacts at month-end. Process returns for credits and follow up on all cases. Fit patients with proper material, size, coatings, and measurements. Bill Vision & Medical Insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Attention to detail
- Excellent people skills
- Experience with optical sales
- Ability to relate and understand the patient's needs with eyewear
- Ability to fit patients with proper material, size, coatings, and measurements
- Understanding of sales in the eye care industry
- Ability to understand the patient's insurance and recommend the right eyewear for them
- Proven skills in English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and editing
- Ability to learn new computer software quickly and accurately
- Ability to accurately enter data into EHR medical software at an above-average pace
- Excellent collaboration, listening, communication, patient interaction, and teamwork skills
- High school or equivalent
- Ability to properly fit/adjust & sell eyeglasses to meet patient's needs
- Ability to bill Vision & Medical Insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Office Mate / Exam Writer experience
- Lab Experience
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
