Job Summary
Determine patient visit reasons and lifestyle needs to deliver eyewear recommendations following optometrist prescriptions. Assist customers in frame selection, coordinate measurements with prescriptions, and recommend lenses and coatings suited to individual habits and facial features. Take measurements, perform adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and dispense eyewear while ensuring accurate pricing and delivery quotes. Clean and merchandise displays daily, assist with insurance billing, and document all patient communications in practice software. Foster customer retention through exceptional service and maintain positive relationships with team members while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- One to two years of experience in related field
- Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician
- Working knowledge of MS Office package
- Demonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries
- Effective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations, as well as prepare letters to confirm agreements made
- Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills
- Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needs
- Proven problem-solving, negotiating, and decision-making skills
- Ability to use appropriate discretion and judgment in applying customer/call handling guidelines
- Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with customers simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
