Job Summary
Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Accurately collect measurements including bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance while assisting patients in selecting frames according to style and color. Educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and frames to suit their needs, then dispense all orders in E360 and repair or adjust frames. Maintain frame standards through cleaning and organization of fully stocked areas, ensuring job aids and policies are followed. General office duties and cleaning will be assigned by the manager. Full-time availability Monday through Saturday, 8am to 7pm, with open shifts within these hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- HIPAA compliance
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Open availability to work any shift within hours Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm
- Ability to work a little earlier and/or later as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
