Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contact lens orders using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Measure patients for frames, including bridge, eye size, and pupillary distance, while recommending specific lenses and coatings. Operate auto-lensometers and manual lensometers to ensure accurate dispensing. Repair and adjust frames, maintain inventory accuracy, and clean fully stocked areas. Enter all orders into the E360 system and follow HIPAA protocols for patient data. This role supports the Total Patient Experience at Clarkson Eyecare, connecting patient needs to retail goods and medical services. Full-time availability is required within office hours Monday through Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Compliance with HIPAA as it pertains to disclosures of protected health information (PHI)
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications
