Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts from optometrist/ophthalmologist prescriptions, determine patient wants/needs, and guide frame and lens selections. Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer, educate patients on lenses, coatings, and frames, and accurately collect measurements (bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, pantoscopic tilt) to fulfill glass/contacts orders and repairs. Requires interaction with patients in a medical office setting and familiarity with ophthalmic terminology and systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (as part of Systems and Technology)
- Experience in ophthalmic settings or medical office environment preferred
