Job Summary
Optical Technician/Optician role focused on dispensing glasses and contacts from prescriptions, measuring and fitting frames, operating lensometers, and advising patients on lenses and coatings. Responsibilities include helping patients select frames based on style and facial/eye measurements, collecting measurements (bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, pantoscopic tilt), dispensing orders, and performing repairs/adjustments. Requires familiarity with ophthalmic procedures and equipment (auto-lensometer/manual lensometer) and strong customer-service skills within a clinical eye-care setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable background check as required by state
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
