Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts by operating auto-lensometers and manual lensometers to measure bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance. Assist patients in selecting frames based on style and color while recommending specific lenses and coatings. Repair and adjust frames to ensure proper fit, collecting precise measurements such as vertex distance and pantoscopic tilt. Determine patient needs and sell products to exceed expectations while delivering medical support.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Strong fine motor skills
- Full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Constant grasping
- Writing/typing
- Use of technology
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
- Favorable result on background check
- ABO and NCLE certifications
