Job Summary
Conduct daily dispensing and fitting of glasses and contact lenses using auto and manual lensometers. Collect precise eye measurements including pupillary distance and frame adjustments while educating patients on lens coatings and frame styles. Coordinate frame selection with facial measurements and optical prescriptions to support medical needs. Assist patients in selecting frames, repair and adjust existing frames, and dispense all orders using current processes. Operate within a clinical setting with occasional travel to other locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Strong fine motor skills
- Full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Constant grasping
- Writing/typing
- Use of technology
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience
- Previous ophthalmic experience
- ABO and NCLE certifications
