Job Summary
Drive sales forecasts and quotas by conducting daily face-to-face meetings with Eye Care Professionals, including Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, and Opticians, to sell the full line of optical products and services. Manage a book of existing business by cross-selling within accounts, negotiating customer service agreements, and executing quarterly business reviews to meet revenue and profit goals. Build relationships with key office personnel and top contact lens manufacturer representatives while maintaining high accuracy on pricing and policies. This field-based role requires approximately 30% overnight travel and living in the designated Louisville, KY territory. Candidates must live in the area, hold a valid driver's license, and possess proficiency with HubSpot and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of current field-based, business-to-business related sales experience
- 3 years of experience in an optical retail setting with responsibility for driving sales and meeting revenue goals
- Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
- Intermediate skills with general PC usage and applications, particularly Excel, Microsoft TEAMs, Outlook, Power Point, Word, etc.
- Experience using Client Relationship Management (CRM) software
- This is a field-based position requiring daily in-person visits to customer accounts
- Overnight travel may be required, approximately 30-50% depending on geography
- Travel will be as needed to attend customer appointments, internal meetings, and industry conferences
Desired Qualifications
- Experience calling on Eye Care Professionals such as Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, and Opticians
- Experience promoting Vision Care products such as Contact Lenses, Eyeglass lenses and/or frames, or other eye health/vision related products
- Experience as an optician or working in an optical or eyecare setting
- Current territory management experience (managing a base of accounts) with a quota assignment (3+ years)
- Demonstrated job progression in a sales or marketing role
- A record of sales achievement in previous roles including promotions, awards, and recognitions
