Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts by measuring facial features, calculating pupillary distance, and adjusting frames to patient prescriptions. Educate customers on lens coatings, frame styles, and optical needs while operating auto-lensometers and dispensing orders through the E360 system. Maintain accurate inventory, clean work areas, and follow all safety protocols and HIPAA compliance standards. Full-time role requires open availability Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 4:30pm, with occasional earlier or later shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year in a customer interactive position
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Compliance with HIPPA as it pertains to disclosures of protected health information (PHI)
Desired Qualifications
- NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
