Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contact lens orders using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists while operating auto-lensometers and manual lensometers. Accurately collect measurements including bridge, pupillary distance, and vertex distance, then educate patients on specific lenses, coatings, and frames to suit their needs. Assist with frame selection based on style and color, repair and adjust frames, and dispense all orders in E360 while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to cleaning standards. Ensure HIPAA compliance and follow all job aids and policies. Full-time position with flexible availability within Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-1pm hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- HIPAA compliance
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to climb
