Job Summary
Dispense and fit glasses and contacts by operating auto-lensometers and manual lensometers to measure bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance. Assist patients in selecting frames based on style and color while coordinating with facial and eye measurements. Educate customers on specific lenses, coatings, and frame options to meet their needs. Accurately collect measurements, dispense orders in E360, and repair or adjust frames. Maintain frame inventory standards through cleaning and organization of fully stocked areas. Follow all protocols, job aids, and policies while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- HIPAA compliance
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years of employment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
