Job Summary

Optical Manufacturing Automation Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing automated production systems that support optical transceiver, silicon photonics, and advanced packaging manufacturing from prototype through high-volume production.Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, automation frameworks, control systems, and data-collection tools; integrating manufacturing equipment, optical test systems, robotics, and motion-control platforms; developing automated workflows for data traceability, process control, and production reporting; building dashboards and analytics to monitor performance, yield, and throughput; ensuring QMS-compliant validation, calibration, and release procedures; and collaborating with manufacturing, process, quality, and software teams to scale manufacturing capacity and improve efficiency for NPI and ramp activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing automation, test automation, or industrial software development
  • Experience with Python, C#, C++, LabVIEW or similar languages for manufacturing automation
  • Experience developing software interfaces for manufacturing equipment, automated test systems, robotics, motion control platforms, and production hardware
  • Knowledge of MES, ERP systems, factory automation platforms, and production traceability requirements
  • Experience with source code management and software lifecycle processes (GitHub, Bitbucket, SVN)
  • Experience supporting NPI, manufacturing scale-up, and production ramp activities
  • Understanding of optical manufacturing processes, transceiver assembly, silicon photonics production, automated optical alignment, calibration systems, or high-speed optical testing is highly desirable
  • International travel may be required
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and ability to work across global teams
