Job Summary
Mount and secure lens blanks in cutting, polishing, grinding, or coating machines, then move work through stations to the next step while monitoring automated machinery for issues. Perform quality work on production, fabrication, and finishing of optical lenses, including repairing damaged items and performing calibrations and tests. Analyze work tickets to determine special handling needs and coordinate with opticians, supervisors, and front office staff to ensure efficient, accurate service. Maintain a clean work area, perform minor equipment maintenance, and inform the supervisor when supplies are low. Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, utilizing precision tools and following HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess basic math skills
- Knowledge and understanding of optical terminology
- Ability to keep current and maintain knowledge base of products and services available to patients
- Ability to work cooperatively and interact in a professional and respectful manner with physicians, coworkers and vendors
- Ability to address concerns and complaints and cooperatively resolve problems
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Must be detail oriented with ability to follow through on the completion of work with quality results
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to use precision tools as required to perform the functions of the job
- Fine manual/finger dexterity and near vision as necessary to perform daily job duties
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift, push, pull and/or carry objects up to 20 pounds
