Job Summary
Contribute to all phases of product development, including concept generation, design, testing, and implementation for new 2D smart cameras, 3D sensors, and LED illumination. Build advanced models on key optical technologies and perform system analysis with related analytical modeling on current and prototype designs. Provide multi-discipline support to production by resolving technical issues associated with components, parts, products, or systems, while testing new and existing designs and creating engineering documentation. Innovate on key optical technologies and exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Lead planning and technical program management for optical-related initiatives and deliver support for manufacturing optical instruments and products.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Optical Science and Engineering, Physics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institution in Canada, or a comparable foreign university
- 6+ years of experience in optical design and testing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) and CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) Image sensor operations
- Good programming skills in C, Python, Linux environment, MATLAB and Zemax simulators
- Practical knowledge in the design of cameras and use of 3D CAD software
- Fluency in French
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
