Job Summary
Greet patients and document information accurately, then escort individuals to treatment rooms for examinations and procedures. Prepare patients for exams, perform routine screening tests, measure vital signs, and conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and lab specimen collection. Assist with medical procedures, educate patients on visits and outcomes, and provide discharge instructions. Manage patient flow, perform outreach calls, check electronic outbox for urgent issues, and complete EHR data entry while adhering to safety and infection control protocols. Requires current MA certificate, BLS/CPR certification, and bilingual skills preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate, or equivalent
- Must have current MA Certificate from an accredited school
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection control standards
- Knowledge of methods, procedures and protocols, including federal, state and local laws handling and disposal of hazardous biochemical waste products
- Communication skills (including appropriate medical terminology)
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgment to react calmly in emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year experience is preferred; not required
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
