Job Summary
Manage recycling and post-collections operations at a Materials Recycling Facility by providing oversight to staff including Supervisors, Dispatchers, Clerks, Drivers, Sorters, and equipment operators. Lead hiring, training, coaching, and performance management while resolving safety issues and claims. Execute tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence, budget achievement, and customer experience goals. Monitor recycling contracts, permit compliance, and inbound material production to optimize commodity output. Develop sales strategies to market commodities locally or nationally and adjust resources for market conditions. Oversee safety programs, loss control, and regulatory compliance while managing the department budget and vendor pricing. Build strong relations with government, community, and environmental groups.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience or participation in Republic Services' management trainee program
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites
- Experience in labor relations
- Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking and an ability to execute against formulated strategy
- Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives
- Able to direct large staff
- Is process-oriented and results-oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success and marshaling resources to accomplish goals and objectives
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to optimize near-term results that contribute to long-term sustainable success
