Job Summary

Provide evidence-based individual, relational, and group counseling to FAU students regarding personal concerns and clinical diagnoses. Conduct intake evaluations, clinical assessments, and risk assessments to determine treatment recommendations. Develop treatment plans and deliver short-term psychotherapy consistent with the CAPS service model. Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and adhere to statutory ethical requirements governing confidentiality and professional practice. Participate in case consultation and multidisciplinary collaboration as assigned by the Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as a mental health counselor, clinical social worker, or psychologist in the State of Florida
  • Must be able to provide evidence-based individual, relationship, and group counseling to a diverse student population
  • Must be able to conduct intake evaluations, clinical assessments, and risk assessments to determine appropriate treatment recommendations
  • Must be able to develop treatment plans and provide short-term psychotherapy consistent with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) service model
  • Must be able to maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards
  • Must be able to adhere to all statutory and ethical requirements governing confidentiality and professional practice within the scope of the applicable licensure
  • Must be able to participate in case consultation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and other departmental activities as assigned
  • Must be able to perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director to meet departmental and university needs
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Must be able to work up to 16 - 28 hours per week
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass all employment screenings prior to the start of employment
  • Must be able to provide official, sealed transcripts and original NACES evaluation, if applicable, sent from their educational institution to Human Resources prior to the start of employment
  • Must be able to provide every institution of higher education attended
  • Must be able to provide all previous employment since the applicant's 18th birthday
  • Must be able to provide list of all published material, current and pending research funding from any source, including details about the research, your role, funding source, and amount
  • Must be able to provide list and description of any non-university professional activities
  • Must be able to provide any affiliation with an institution or program in a foreign country
  • Must be able to provide a complete copy of your passport
  • Must be able to provide the most recently submitted DS-160 (Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application), if available
