Job Summary
Dean of Students role supporting the Principal to cultivate a strong school culture, discipline and behavior management, attendance and engagement systems, restorative and corrective responses, student support interventions, and schoolwide operations. Responsibilities include establishing clear expectations for student behavior; serving as the primary point person for discipline and culture; supervising engagement teams and monitoring attendance; coaching staff on effective implementation of the primary person model; developing relationships with students and families; coordinating student activities and leadership opportunities; collaborating with teachers, counselors, and community partners; ensuring safe and respectful learning environments; using data to inform decisions and drive improvements across programs and sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred
- Massachusetts certification (or working toward certification) as a teacher, counselor, or administrator
- Experience as an educator in an urban setting
- Experience leading, supervising, and/or coaching staff
