Job Summary
Manage daily operations at the Oak Park Ice Rink, overseeing public skating, hockey, figure skating, and special events while monitoring ice plant schedules, maintenance, and resurfacing. Supervise front-line staff including skate guards, attendants, and guest services, conducting interviews, training, and shift scheduling. Ensure facility compliance with Cal/OSHA and NFPA regulations through routine inspections and work order logging in the Altum system. Coordinate utility shutdowns, manage vendor contracts, and serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts. Requires 3+ years of ice rink experience, OSHA certification, and ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of ice rink facility experience
- High school diploma/GED
- Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Sufficient computer skills to operate BMS / other automated systems
- Adequate knowledge of normal business applications such as Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Adobe
- Ability to lift heavy objects

- Ability to operate equipment
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to work in adverse conditions
