Job Summary
Optometrist or Ophthalmologist needed to perform in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans under the VA process. Responsibilities include reviewing electronic medical records via a secure web portal, conducting eye exams with Visual Field Testing (VFT), documenting exam findings, and completing required VA forms. Schedule is part-time (3-4 days/week) with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day. Equipment and tools for documentation are provided. Requires an active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license. Training and ongoing support are provided. Benefits include health insurance and 401K. No on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Holds an active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based portals
- Ability to perform in-person eye exams and VA disability assessments
- Ability to complete VA forms and follow VA process
