Job Summary
Join Mercyhealth as an Ophthalmologist in McHenry or Algonquin, IL, to build and grow a comprehensive ophthalmology practice within a multispecialty health system. The role features cataract surgery, premium lens implants, laser procedures (YAG, LPI, SLT), minor in-office surgical procedures, and the use of advanced diagnostic tools and EMR (EPIC). You’ll work within a team that includes an Optometrist, Practice Manager, Ophthalmic Team Lead, schedulers, technicians, and support staff, with a shared weekly call and hospital-based surgical access. Enjoy a collaborative environment with a strong referral network, flexible scheduling, and access to state-of-the-art equipment (Zeiss OCT, Humphrey Visual Field, Lenstar, corneal topography, phoropters, slit lamps, and surgical instrumentation). Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Completion of accredited Ophthalmology residency
- Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
