Job Summary
Ophthalmologist needed in the Sacramento region to join Mercy Medical Group in Folsom. Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat eye conditions; perform cataract surgery and related procedures (including femtosecond laser for cataract surgery, pterygium, MIGS, lasers for iridotomies, capsulotomies, and SLT); prescribe and manage medications; provide patient counseling on eye health and treatment options; collaborate with optometrists and primary care physicians for coordinated care; participate in continuing education and stay abreast of ophthalmology advancements. Compensation includes a two-year guaranteed salary ($414K-$438K DOE) with potential for partnership track; comprehensive benefits and malpractice/retirement plans. Requires MD/DO, board eligibility/certification in Ophthalmology, and active CA medical license; patient-focused, collaborative professional with strong time-management and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
- Active medical license to practice in California
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with patients and colleagues
- Dedication to high-quality patient care with compassion and empathy
