Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose/treat eye conditions. Perform cataract and related laser/surgical procedures (femtosecond laser cataract, MIGS, SLT, pterygium, iridotomies, capsulotomies). Prescribe and manage medications, provide counseling on eye health and preventive measures. Collaborate with optometrists and primary care physicians to coordinate care, stay current with ophthalmology advancements, and participate in continuing education. Located in the Sacramento region (Folsom, CA) within Mercy Medical Group/Dignity Health network; competitive salary with partnership-track potential and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
- Active medical license to practice in the state of California
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
- Dedication to providing high-quality patient care with a focus on compassion and empathy
- Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills
- Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment
