Job Summary
Ophthalmologist needed at Mercy Medical Group to join a Sacramento-area clinic. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive eye examinations, performing cataract surgery (including femtosecond laser procedures), MIGS, laser surgeries (iridotomies, capsulotomies, SLT), prescribing and managing medications, and counseling patients on eye health and treatment options. Collaborate with optometrists and primary care physicians to ensure coordinated patient care and stay current with ophthalmology advancements through continuing education. The role offers a competitive two-year guaranteed salary ($414K-$438K DOE) with potential for partnership track and comprehensive benefits. MMG is part of Dignity Health / CommonSpirit Health, serving a large multi-specialty network in Northern California.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
- Active medical license to practice in California
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication
- Dedication to high-quality patient care with compassion and empathy
- Detail-oriented, organized, and time-management skills
- Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
