Ophthalmic Technician - Willing to Train!

Job Summary
Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing while verifying medical and vision insurances. Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers by answering inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests. Verify patient information by interviewing them, recording medical history and medications, and confirming the purpose of the visit. Check the condition of patients' eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements, performing diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography. Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA, and perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Favorable result on Background Check
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excitement to learn and grow
- Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
- Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is preferred, but not required

- Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
- Required skills include: dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
