Job Summary
Conduct initial history taking, recording presenting complaints, ocular history, medications, and allergies. Obtain and record visual acuity, refraction, color testing, lensometry, and intraocular pressure. Perform ancillary testing including visual fields, corneal topography, HRT, OCT A and B scans, and fundus photography. Serve as the first line of contact for patients in the exam room by obtaining baseline information for the physician. Work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM on a varied per diem schedule earning $24.61 to $30.75.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum One (1) year of full-time experience working in an Ophthalmology practice
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Visual Fields
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Corneal Topography
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with IOL
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with OCT
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with A/B Scans
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Fundus
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with External Photography
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Manifest Refractions
- Ability to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers
- Ability to exchange accurate information in situations involving patients, staff and medical providers
- Ability to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers
Desired Qualifications
- Associates and/or Bachelor's degree
- Additional years of experience working in Ophthalmology multi-specialty practice
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
- Ophthalmic Certification
