Job Summary
Conduct initial history taking and record presenting complaints, past ocular history, medications, and allergies for patients. Obtain and document visual acuity, refraction, color testing, lensometry, and intraocular pressure. Perform ancillary testing including visual fields, corneal topography, HRT, OCT A and B scans, and fundus photography. Serve as the first line of contact in the exam room by obtaining baseline information for the physician. Work per diem on an as-needed basis in East Setauket, NY, under the general supervision of a licensed medical practitioner.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of full-time experience working in an Ophthalmology practice
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Visual Fields
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Corneal Topography
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with IOL
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with OCT
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with A/B Scans
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Fundus
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with External Photography
- Full working knowledge and hands on experience with Manifest Refractions
Desired Qualifications
- Associates and/or Bachelor's degree
- Additional years of experience working in Ophthalmology multi-specialty practice
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
- Ophthalmic Certification
