Job Summary
Provides individualized, direct patient care under supervision of a licensed healthcare provider; assists in delivery of health care services and in ophthalmic examinations including visual acuity, tonometry, keratometry, refractometry, slit lamp, and related tests; supports clinic operations and patient flow; maintains patient records and equipment cleanliness; requires high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and preferably ophthalmic tech credentials; on-site full-time role in Chalmette, LA.
Required Qualifications
- Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Ophthalmic Medical Technology
- Experience with ophthalmology examinations in a high patient volume department
- Certifications Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Preferred - Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) through JCAHPO
