Job Summary

Ophthalmic Technician role performing both administrative and clinical duties to support physicians: preparing patients and exam rooms, conducting pre-exam testing (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation), performing advanced diagnostics (OCT, IOL Master, Pentacam, A-scan, B-scan, WaveScan/Vario, keratometry, lensometry, visual fields), assisting with minor surgical and laser procedures, administering eye medications, documenting patient information, coordinating prior authorizations, and educating patients. Requires COA certification or enrollment, minimum one year of ophthalmic technician experience, strong customer service, organization, and ability to stand for long periods; rotating schedule with day/evening/weekend coverage; base pay around $24.50/hour. Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required or enrolled within one year and completion within two years of hire
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Skilled in problem-solving with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable engaging in face-to-face interactions with patients and staff
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
