Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician performs patient preparation for ophthalmology evaluations, administers eye medications, and assists physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures. Responsibilities include completing ophthalmic history and testing (refraction, VF tests, A-Scan Biometry, Pachymetry, color testing, contact lens evaluation), documenting in EMR, maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring sterile technique, and counseling patients on care and procedures. Requires strong communication, confidentiality, and ability to work with clinicians to deliver high-quality eye care; Education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; one year ophthalmology experience preferred; Certification as Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred.
