Job Summary

Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including vision checks, pressure measurements, and imaging such as OCT and fundus photography. Manage patient intake and workup while providing counseling and education. Scribe in a rotational pattern, answer phone calls, and write scripts as requested. Maintain efficient clinical flow by tracking no-shows and add-ins, and assist physicians with overall patient care and triage. Stock and clean the clinic as needed. This role supports the Eye Center of Northern Colorado team across multiple locations in Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, and Centerra.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self-study is required to obtain/maintain ophthalmic technician certification within 18 months of employment
  • Maintains a professional demeanor, including dress and work conversation
  • Understands and solves patient complaints
  • Maintains effective working relationships with other staff and doctors

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office
  • Prior experience in electronic health record
  • Experience with patient-facing care
  • High level of customer service
  • Experience checking patient vision
  • Experience checking patient pressure
  • Experience obtaining diagnostic imaging

  • Extensive experience working alongside Ophthalmologists and Optometrists
  • Experience in an Ophthalmology or Optometry clinic (or similar setting)
