Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary
Provide ophthalmic technician support during eye exams. Perform tests including autorefraction, lensometry, tonometry, visual field testing, glare testing, and color vision testing per established guidelines. Obtain patient history and transcribe results into the EHR as physicians dictate during exams. Record physician fee tickets in the EHR, maintain patient confidentiality, escort patients to appropriate areas, assist physicians by obtaining supplies, and support technicians as needed. Maintain infection-control practices, stock supplies, clean and sterilize equipment, and ensure autoclave compliance. Responsible for checking medication and supply expiration and coordinating patient flow. Demonstrates the ability to work with geriatric patients and patients of all ages and to travel to satellite locations as required.
